Welcome back to Red Ted Art. A number of you have asked for some slow rising
paper squishies. It has been quite a whilesince you've asked it's taken me this
long to get around to making them. So paper
squishies... they are really fun and easy to make. Of course this is not
the same as a shop bought one but ifyou've only got a tape and paper at home
I think they're really fun and quirkyalternative. Come on let's take a look
and see how they are made. So to make our make our emoji squishy we need some yellow paper some
contrasting papers and pens and a bowlfor measuring. I'm gonna make it quite
big because I think they squish up betterwhen they're bigger and if you don't
have yellow paper - that's totally finejust use white paper and colour it in.
First of course that will take a littlebit longer. I am going to cut out two circles
of yellow. There's a little bumphere in my bowl cut these out now we've
got our yellow it's time to decoratethem that way around I'm gonna draw get
some scrap paper so that my black pen doesn't go through and mark my paper
underneath. First you will need aneye. I'm doing the cheeky emoji face you
can use a lid like this maybe to traceit if you need help
Next I'm going to draw with a mouth. I don't know if it's big enough I might
have to do another another eye but I'llhave a think about that. Actually it is a
pencil first.
and then we need a tonugue which in this case normally you
have the tongue sticking out just overyour emoji's face because this is gonna
be a squishy I'm just gonna make it thesame so it won't go over the
edge. Check that you're happy with allthe dimensions. I think that's quite good.
I mean the I could be a bit bigger but Ithink it's okay. And glued down
There we go, the basic emoji face done right. You have to turn it into a squishy so
you will need sellotape. As you're probably aware those of you that made the paper
squishy as before. We're just gonnatake normal tape and start taping
everything together basically take apiece put it over the bottom if it as
straight as possible and tuck it aroundthe end now the back of your mode your
squishy we're never be as neat as thefront of your squishy so this is gonna
have some extra folds and stuff on itbut don't worry about that the important
thing is is that you've got your frontas neat as possible that's a bit you're
kind of playing with now turn it aroundand make sure you cover all the back
with tape too so time to stuff now whatare we gonna stuff it with I've done
some research into this and looked atmany of the paper squishies out there
and it looks like the best thing is tohave toys stuffing or in our case we
actually use an old pillow stuffing or not to locate an old pillow you can use plastic
bags or the absolute best is memory foam but who's got memory foam?I certainly
don't! So I think using toy stuffing if you've
got some and if you don't just useplastic bags that's happened to small
pieces or use you can also use cottonball but I think if you've got if you've
gone on pillow at home that your parentsdon't need anymore this is a really good
way of recycling that old pillow intosomething fun to play with now you might
find some little gaps as you stuff it ifyou do just make sure you put some more
tape over it I think this is okayI might be a little gap there and then I
have a see whether it's a niceconsistency I think quite full is good
you can experiment with the differentamounts of stuffing maybe putting quite
a lot in it's always surprises me howmuch fits in so if you're making this
with paper bags you know have a youmight have to have a couple of extra
bags lying around already just stuff andnow you're gonna shut it huh was a
sticky tape on here here we go look atthat it's nice and stuck and then let's
see we've got two species when I madebefore let's see oh I think I've got a
little gap let's put a bit more tape atthe bottom that's okay it's part of the
process if this happens to you don'tworry the problem about big holes is
that it won't let your squishy basicallygo back into shape if it's too big so
let's make sure that's nice and tapedshut in little holes food because you do
need to let some of the air out whenyou're squishing it down okay let's try
that again
and then let's see definitely slowrising now if you've done a really
really good job of swish of filling andtaping your squishy what you can do is
it might not expand so well you can addlittle print prick holes which will help
the airand out and then expand back into shape
this one works really well. Let's squish ittogether and there you have it slowly
rising so yes finallybut much demand I have made some papers
please if you liked this video and youwould like me to do make make more
please do let me know in the commentsand of course there's asked wishes are
all made for you and you know if it'ssomething that you enjoy we're making we
can make more of it don't you wait therewe go anyway as per usual don't forget
to like, comment and subscribe and wehope to see you again soon. Take care!
